This was just one picture in a series of about 20 shot in this 2 minute encounter. The one squirrel wanting a kiss had tried just putting its face up to the other. When that didn't work, he/she reached around and grabbed his/her face to plant a big one! And then they just sat there, side by side, for a moment. It was as though they were two young teenagers who had experienced their first kiss! This photograph was published in the 2008 Community Town Planner Calender (Indiana)

"Loving Rose" This is one of Lois and Don Bailey's many beautiful roses they caringly cultivate a grow in their yard. What "lights up" this rose is the evening sun just as it is about to slip below the horizon. Many of the flower photographs I've taken are from neighbors' gardens. Greenwood gardeners definitely have the "Green" thumb!

These "Kissing Cardinals" visit my feeder throughout the year. They have had many offspring who have now begun to bring their partners that I've coined "Kissing Cardinals" also. These two are distinguishable from all the rest because their plummage has not been that perfect everyone "thinks" they should have. These two don't care about looks... they care about each other... and have been partners for as long as I first spotted them. They are not kissing but rather passing a seed between one another which is a gesture of affection.
